DigitalSTARTer is the state-wide start-up competition for digital projects<\/strong> by students in grades 8 to 13 from Lower Saxony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In small school teams, you had until May 15, 2024 to develop ideas on digital topics<\/strong> and present them to the public on our own voting platform. The project teams rewarded by the crowd with the most votes were given the chance to present<\/strong> their idea at the IdeenExpo 2024 in Hanover<\/strong> and win great support packages and the title of “DigitalSTARTer 2024”! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The winners of this year’s competition have been announced! Mila and Max Dorka<\/strong> from Werner-von-Siemens-Schule Bad Harzburg came out on top in both the crowd voting and the final pitches, taking first place with prize money of \u20ac500. With their project “Handic.app<\/strong>“, they want to make it easier for people with disabilities to access event tickets via their own app. Felix Saathoff and Lorenz Rutkevich<\/strong> from Teletta-Gro\u00df-Gymnasium Leer took second place with “SeesDisease<\/strong>“, an AI-supported analysis of tissue samples. Third place went to Z\u00fcmr\u00fct Alan<\/strong> from Gymnasium in der W\u00fcste Osnabr\u00fcck with her project “Heartbeat of Innovation<\/strong>“, in which she uses mathematical analysis and software programming to improve the detection of cardiac arrhythmia from ECG signals. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Brungard<\/strong> from BBS Lingen Wirtschaft with his project “Drive-ToGether<\/strong>” for the simplified organization of carpooling (special prize for sustainability) and Artur Staub and Kuba Dykty<\/strong> from Bertha-von-Suttner-Oberschule Osnabr\u00fcck for their project “Mr. Math<\/strong>“, a calculator with a learning function (special prize for education), each received a special prize.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The three teams impressed the jury with their presentations on the stage in Hall 6 at the IdeenExpo in Hanover, where the final event took place on June 11. The five final teams had previously prevailed against their competitors in a public vote. They had submitted an application video and a business model canvas as well as a detailed description of their project. The final teams’ pitches were followed by a keynote speech<\/strong> by entrepreneur, author and coach Ali Mahlodji<\/strong> and a panel discussion<\/strong> with (pictured from left) Martin H\u00e4usler <\/strong>(Coordinator of Sustainable Student Companies Lower Saxony), Dr. Alexander Georgiadis<\/strong> (Head of the Digitalization Department of the State of Lower Saxony), Prof. Dr. Bernhard H. Vollmar<\/strong> (Head of the ZE Center for Entrepreneurship at the PFH Private University of Applied Sciences G\u00f6ttingen), Mika Danner<\/strong> (DigitalSTARTer winner 2022) and Linda B\u00fcscher<\/strong> (Founder and Managing Director of Bulletpoint GmbH). <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

UPCOMING EVENT on January 25, 2024<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On January 25, the kick-off event for DigitalSTARTer 2024<\/strong> took place at the PFH G\u00f6ttingen with a varied program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a keynote speech <\/strong>by Dr.-Ing. Alexander Georgiades, Head of the Digitalization Department at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economic Affairs, Samir Roshandel (Niedersachsen.next Startup), Prof. Dr. Bernhard H. Vollmar and PD Dr. Mark Euler presented the content and process of the DigitalSTARTer competition<\/strong> in detail. As a best practice example for sustainable school projects <\/strong>, the NoFoodWaste team was a guest at the event and reported on their experiences during the project period, and in a panel discussion<\/strong>, stakeholders from schools, business and politics exchanged views on the importance of future skills and entrepreneurship in the school context. The supporting program was rounded off with musical interludes <\/strong>by pupils and a small market of opportunities for current school projects<\/strong> from Lower Saxony, which could be visited in the foyer before and after the event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DigitalSTARTer 2022<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The DigtalSTARTer is taking place for the second time. In 2022, school teams developed exciting digital-related projects as part of the competition and presented their ideas at the IdeenExpo in Hanover. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
